Knob-and-tube out, a fully sealed envelope in. We kept the original trim profiles, fir floors, and stair, and rebuilt everything behind them — wiring, plumbing, insulation, and a new mechanical system. The house now holds temperature within two degrees floor to floor and looks exactly as old as it is.
